Overview
New regulations that govern USAID funding went into effect on December 26, 2014. Managing USAID awards can be challenging in a changing compliance environment. Organizations that rely on USAID funding must ensure that their internal policies and procedures align with the new regulations, which introduced additional compliance requirements. Having staff members with a solid understanding of these regulations will strengthen organizations’ ability to effectively manage USAID awards and maintain good working relationships with USAID.
This workshop will provide an update on the new USAID regulations for participants who have previously attended the USAID Rules & Regulations: Grants and Cooperative Agreements course.

Course Objectives
At the end of this workshop, participants will return to work equipped with an understanding of the key changes implemented by the new regulations.
This workshop will:
- Examine substantive changes in the updated regulations for USAID grants and cooperative agreements
- Demonstrate how to navigate the new regulations to find answers to questions
- Define new USAID jargon for effective communication
- Help prepare your organization to meet the criteria for successful audits under the new regulations
What You Will Learn
In this participatory workshop, participants will be given the opportunity to connect with peers, examine the implications of the new regulations on managing USAID awards, and gain ideas from each other’s experiences working under the new regulations.
In this workshop you will learn:
- How to navigate the updated rules and regulations that underlie all USAID and USG awards
- The key changes in the regulations that have the most significant effect on organizations’ policies and procedures
- How to apply the new USAID rules and regulations to ensure compliant and successful program implementation
